Safety first.

Stay off the roof and away from downed power lines. If water is coming through a ceiling or near electrics, switch off power to that area only if it is safe, and contact your utility or emergency services for immediate danger. Online requests do not dispatch emergency assistance. Call (630) 659-4067 to ask about availability.

01 / AFTER A STORM

What to do
after a storm.

  1. 01

    Make sure everyone is safe

Check for hazards before you look at damage: downed lines, broken glass, unstable trees or sagging ceilings. Do not climb onto the roof.

  2. 02

    Photograph what you can see

From the ground and inside, take dated photos and video of damaged shingles, siding, gutters, windows, water stains and any debris.

  3. 03

Prevent further damage if it is safe

Move belongings away from leaks and catch dripping water. Keep receipts for anything you buy for temporary protection.

  4. 04

Note the date and the storm

Write down when the storm happened and what you noticed. Your insurer may ask for these details.

  5. 05

    Contact your insurer

Ask about your policy, how to report damage and any deadlines. Your insurer explains its own process and coverage.

  6. 06

    Request a free inspection

We inspect the roof and exterior, photograph the visible damage and explain the repairs we propose.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Storm damage
questions.

Is the storm damage inspection really free?

Yes. Requesting and receiving the inspection is free and there is no obligation to go ahead with any work.

How quickly can someone come out?

It depends on demand after a storm and where you are. Send a request or call, and the team will confirm availability and a time for your visit.

Can hail or wind damage be hard to see from the ground?

It can be. Lifted or creased shingles, bruised shingles and damaged flashing are not always visible from the yard, which is one reason an inspection helps.

Do I need to file an insurance claim first?

No. You can request an inspection before you have a claim number. Your insurer can explain its reporting requirements and any deadlines.

Will you tell me whether my insurance will pay?

No. We explain the damage we can see and the repairs we propose. Your insurer decides coverage and claim approval.

What if water is coming in right now?

Stay safe and call us to ask about availability. Online requests do not dispatch emergency assistance.
